David Balchin (L) and Peter Wilson (R) aged 18 in 1961. David Balchin played outside left for England and Peter Wilson played left-back for Wales. Both were members of Cliftonville Hockey Club.
David Balchin - and a certain "Tommy" Thomas - played for Kent against Sussex at Lewes a few days later; at which time David Balchin became the first schoolboy to play for the full Kent team.
