Your previous committee were very busy leading up to this year’s AGM and Reunion Dinner, updating all the paperwork and planning how to notify the membership as efficiently and cost effectively as possible. Thanks must go to Carol & John Copeland & Bonnie Tyrrell for assisting in the workload.
The Annual Reunion Dinner was enjoyed by all those present and was well catered again this year by Debbie & Keith from the ‘Racing Greyhound’.
Mr. Marcus Russell, who has been a trustee since 2001 of the RAF Manston Spitfire & Hurricane Memorial Trust, gave a fascinating presentation about ‘The RAF 100 Centenary at Manston, which was followed by questions from the audience. Answering one question, Marcus informed us that the museum had acquired a Spitfire simulator and that visitors can train in this for a fee. We hope to organise a visit shortly to the museum where a group of ORs can learn to ‘fly a Spitfire' sounds like a lot of fun.
We of course sang the old Chatham House song, so beloved of Mr. Milsted and for the fourth year, staff & past students from the school sang the old Clarendon House School song ‘Non Nobis Domini’, assisted by some of the current pupils.ire’. It sounds like a lot of fun!
